Félix Vallotton, 3 Volumes (Book) by Marina Ducrey, Katia Poletti. Very Good Condition, Non-Refundable – Delay: Between 2 and 3 weeks – in French.

Félix Vallotton, born in Lausanne, December 28, 1865 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, December 29, 1925, is a painter, engraver, illustrator, sculptor, Franco-Swiss art critic and novelist.

Felix Vallotton is one of the leading artists at the turn of the 20th century. Born in Lausanne, he was 17 years old when he moved to Paris to follow the Atelier Julien courses. His wood engravings quickly brought him notoriety. He frequented the circle of the Blanche magazine, and became friends with Vuillard and Bonnard. His art, immediately recognizable and difficult to catalog, does not seek to break with tradition but on the contrary to exalt it with powerful decorative effects and a palette of stunning colors, often surprising and sometimes unreal.

Long awaited by the international community, this reasoned catalog of three volumes, richly illustrated, lists more than 1,700 paintings, most of which have never been published. The maturity of the artist is reflected in his series of nudes although portraits, interiors, still lifes and landscapes are also very important in the construction of his work. The preparatory drawings and sketches are presented and help clarify the construction of the painting. The catalog includes the complete reproduction of the handwritten version of the artist’s famous Book of Reason.
