Aki Kuroda, born in 1944 in Kyoto is a Japanese painter, contemporary artist, who lives and works in Paris.
Paintings are just one of the faces of Aki Kuroda’s creations. Sculptures, photographs, installations, dance shows complete an otherwise more diverse and rich space, where everything is garden: the body, life, the city, the cosmos. The CosmoGarden series has celebrated two decades of its productions, mixing the whole into events created in a wide variety of places around the world.
Neither Japanese nor French, but as uprooted, Aki Kuroda never stops pushing the limits of the space he creates, very inscribed in the reality of the life he loves, in the very heart of cities, ideal observatory of a universe in deep mutation, which he accompanies with his questions.
