Alberto Sughi (book) by Vittorio Sgarbi. Skira editore. 2007. Softcover. New in blister pack. Size: 24 x 28 cm. 160 Pages Color illustrations. In Italian.

Alberto Sughi returns to Cesena, to “his” Cesena, with a large anthology that traces the milestones of his long and intense career. The catalog, created for the exhibition, brings together more than sixty paintings and covers almost half a century of the artist’s work. The first works date back to 1958: Italy is going through its ephemeral “economic boom”, but the artist’s attentive eye captures among the folds of this promise of well-being the beginnings of an irrepressible anguish, which seizes the urban man, freezing him in an immaterial fixity. The urban context, from a place of socialization, becomes the space in which the real impossibility of interpersonal communication is measured. The volume is the catalogue of the Cesena exhibition.
