Brancusi et l’idée de sculpture / Brancusi and the idea of sculpture (book) by Pontus Hulten, Natalia Dumitresco, Alexandre Istrati. Publisher Flammarion. 1986. Hardcover book of 384 pages in very good condition (except for a stamp printed on the flyleaf). French language.

Constantin Brancusi (1876 1957) is one of the greatest sculptors of our century alongside Rodin. This work offers a complete panorama of his work: his sculptures, drawings, paintings, and especially his extraordinary photographs.

It consists of the Pontus Hulten study explaining the importance of Brancusi in 20th century art, a detailed biography of the artist and the first fully illustrated catalog raisonné of his work, established by Natalia Dumitresco and Alexandre Istrati. This catalog is followed by a directory of furniture and objects manufactured by Brancusi.
