Dali ou l’ivresse des rêves, Jean Ferrero collection by the Center d’art La Malmaison, Cannes, author Ballester 2016 (book) soft cover, like new. 243 pages. In French.
While Salvador Dali’s sculptures are well known, his graphic work is much less so. This exhibition bringing together more than 200 original creations, from Jean Ferrero’s personal collection, aims to illustrate this part of the artist’s work. An exceptional opportunity to discover original illustrations of extreme rarity, produced by Salvador Dali for books, such as Le Bestiaire de La Fontaine dalinisé, published in 1974. The folio of this reference work and impossible to find on the art, consists of 12 copper engravings whose colors were made with a stencil. Many prints by the Catalan artist, enhanced by his hand before being published, are revealed, supplemented by watercolors and oils on canvas, to offer a dreamlike and fabulous retrospective of this genius artist.
