Fernand Léger (1881-1955). With his discs, Léger reflects the perpetual movement that animates the city and the world. He can only marvel at the rhythms of the city. The optical ruptures offered by urban landscapes become pretexts for complex compositions. Their dynamic arrangement produces the effect of a city resembling the inseparable cogs of an invincible machine. In 1920, we are in the middle of the Orphic Cubism period.
