Japanese Embroidery, Kyoto Shoin’s Art Library.

Traditional Japanese Embroidery dates back to the 6th century and has contributed over the centuries to embellishing Japanese kimonos and obis, from ceremonial Kosode to Noh or Kabuki theater costumes. Nowadays, Japanese embroidery has become more popular thanks to the Kurenai Kai school, founded in Togane, Chiba in 1965 by Master Iwao Saito.
