Julio Pomar is undoubtedly the great living painter of Portugal. The publication of his catalogue raisonné begins with volume II for practical reasons, his early works being more difficult to list and photograph. Beginning in 1968 with the series of “May 68” and “Turkish Bath”, it ends in 1985 with those of “Crows” and “Portuguese Stories”. Almost exhaustive documentation on these years will allow us to take the measure of the work of this very great painter.
