Jean Carzou, pseudonym of Karnik Zouloumian, 1907-2000, is a French painter, lithographer, engraver (etching, drypoint) and decorator of Armenian origin.
Voluntarily on the sidelines of the great pictorial movements, Jean Carzou, while perfectly inscribing his work in an era of which he witnessed, knew how to invent, impose and preserve a very particular style. Carzou thus remains among the outstanding artists of our time: he translated their worries, the dangers, the grandiose and frightening achievements better than anyone else, but this is his originality, he was able to express it with poetry.
