V. Komissarzhevsky is a well-known theatre director and critic. He has staged a series of very popular performances for the audience. His interpretation of plays by Gorky and Turgeniev is extremely original. The staging of Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, was a major event. One of the last productions was Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan.
Komissarzhevsky has also appeared in newspapers and magazines with articles devoted to Soviet theatre.
