Lucia Moholy, 1894-1989, Between photography and life, Tra fotografia e vita (book) authors and publishers: Angela Madesani, Nicoletta Ossanna Cavadini. 2012. 192 pages, 129 black and white illustrations, soft cover. Factory sealed. English/Italian version.
Lucia Moholy, née Lucia Schulz is a British photographer originally from the Czech Republic. His photography documents the architecture and artistic creations of the Bauhaus school and introduced this work to a post-World War II public.
Photographer, writer and intellectual, Lucia Moholy is a central figure in the history of 20th century photography, even if the fame of her husband, the famous artist László Moholy-Nagy, visual photographer and theorist of photography, has long eclipsed her work.
Through her photographs, an example of the German avant-garde and the Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity), it is possible to understand the complexity of her artistic personality and to reconstruct the role she played in the cultural history of the last century.
