Maximilien Luce, catalogue of the painted work (Book) by Jean Bouin-Luce, Maximilien Luce, Denise Bazetoux, Christine Veysseyre. Like New, the two Volumes (I and II) – French and English versions. Editions JBL.

Maximilien Luce, 1858-1941, is a French painter. A libertarian activist, he produced many politically engaged illustrations. He was also an engraver, portraitist and poster artist. From 1885, and for about fifteen years, he was part of the neo-impressionist movement: he used the technique of divisionism (or pointillism), developed by Georges Seurat. He later returned to a more classical style, but which kept the harmony and luminosity of his first period.
