About the Artist
Born in 1928 in Langres, France, Michel-Henry studied at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. A key figure in the post-war School of Paris, he became renowned worldwide for his luminous, joyful style radiating a passion for life, color, and beauty.

His works were exhibited across four continents in major galleries, and his pieces grace over 15 museums globally – including the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris. Uniquely, a museum was dedicated to him during his lifetime near Sapporo, Japan – a rare honor for any living artist. Michel-Henry passed away in Paris in late December 2016, leaving a legacy of vibrant Riviera and Mediterranean-inspired art.
