At the age of 10, I made my first desserts and cakes with my private teacher: my grandmother. She was a former cook in a bourgeois house, who spent her time in the kitchen to delight the family of gourmands that we were. From this period of my childhood I have delicious memories of smells and scents that escaped from my grandparents’ kitchen.
Very young, still at school, I announced to my parents that I wanted to be a pastry chef. I spent hours admiring the window of the city’s pastry shop. I still have in my head these gourmet images that confirmed my choice. I have many gastronomic memories of outings with my parents, who took my sister and me to good restaurants where, like all “kids” our age, we impatiently awaited dessert, as well as other unforgettable little moments.
