Sur Les Traces De L’Afrique Fantôme (Book) by Michel Cressole and Françoise Huguier photographer. Like New – Delivery time: 2 Weeks – Paperback. In French. 234 pages.
In the footsteps of ghost Africa. From March 1931 to February 1933, Michel Leiris crossed Africa from West to East. He is the secretary-archivist of an ethnographic mission led by Marcel Griaule, and, as such, keeps the logbook. Published for the first time by Gallimard in 1934, his road book became a great book, L ‘Afrique fantôme. From May 1988 to January 1990, a photographer, Françoise Huguier, and a writer-reporter, Michel Cressole, took up the route of the Dakar-Djibouti mission. In turn, they kept a travel diary, one with pictures, the other with words, but both with this taste for the marvelous which, almost sixty years ago, brought Leiris to the land of blacks. .
