The catalogue is a visually stimulating treatment of Wilfredo Lam’s work during the last two decades of his life and provides over 220 color illustrations of his paintings. It also includes a poem by the French surrealist poet Alain Jouffroy.

This second volume of the catalogue raisonné of the painted work covers the years 1961-1982. It includes a monograph with richly illustrated analytical texts of his work and the artist’s favorite themes. Then, an illustrated chronology covers the main events that marked the artist’s life. In the third part, the catalogue raisonné itself. Each work is illustrated and is accompanied by a detailed technical sheet. Finally, the scientific apparatus includes the main exhibitions and the many works relating to the artist.

The texts are signed by John Yau, American poet and art historian and Gerardo Mosquera, Cuban critic and art historian specializing in Latin American art. The preface is by Jacques Leenhardt, critic and historian, Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France), Honorary President of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and author of numerous works. The introduction is by Eskil Lam, the artist’s son who, in collaboration with Lou Laurin Lam, the artist’s wife, established the catalogue raisonné for these years.
