Yves Klein (book) by Nicolas Charlet, publisher Adam Biro, 2000. Paperback of 255 pages in French. 2000. As new condition.

An artist with a dazzling trajectory, an explorer of pure color and the immaterial, Yves Klein has profoundly marked contemporary art. From the famous IKB blues to living brushes, from sponge reliefs to fire paintings, “Yves the Monochrome”, painter, but also sculptor, musician, utopian architect, who died at the age of thirty-four, achieved in eight years of overflowing creation the fusion of art and life.

Yves Klein, French artist (1928-1962) In 1954, he turned definitively to art and began his “Monochrome Adventure”. Yves Klein is particularly known for his ultramarine blue, which he named “IKB” (International Klein Blue).

From his monochromes, to the void, to the “living brush technique” or “Anthropometry”, to the use of elements of nature to manifest their creative force or gold that he uses as a passage to the absolute, he has designed a work that crosses the boundaries of conceptual, body and happening art.

In 1962, a few weeks before his death, Yves Klein created FC1 (Feu Coloré n°1), a work that possesses all the emblematic elements of this artist: anthropometry, fire painting, the famous blue monochrome (IKB, International Klein Blue, patented in 1960) and pink pigment.
