The original edition of Yves Peintures, dates from 1954. This book printed in Spain in a few dozen copies is a work by Yves Klein in its own right, which its extreme rarity and its pioneering role in the artist’s work have made legendary. The very first exhibition of Yves Klein, at the Club des Solitaires, in Paris, in October 1955, was thus entitled “Yves Peintures”, several monochromes bearing in signature the singular monogram (YK) reproduced with a gilding iron on the back of this box. Dilecta editions therefore wished, with the help of the Yves Klein Archives, to once again offer Yves Peintures while preserving the originality and the rarity of the work. The colors of the monochrome were analyzed in the laboratory and carefully reproduced, paper similar to that of the 1954 edition was used, and the copies of this print were manually assembled according to different series of plates, so that each book or almost be unique, as Yves Klein predicted. The copies of this limited and numbered edition each include this certificate issued by the Klein Archives and authenticated by the printing of a dry stamp.
