André Lhote (Book) by André Lhote, Hélène Moulin, Réunion des musées nationaux, Valence. In Very Good Condition, Rare! Softcover. 260 pages. Editor RMN. Allow 2 weeks for delivery. Thank you. French version.

From its beginnings close to fauvism and symbolism, to its very particular cubism, the exhibition retraces, through 150 paintings and drawings and numerous archival documents, the itinerary of André Lhote. Despite his works in the largest museums in the world, this artist is still little known and has not been the subject of any retrospective since 1966.

André Lhote, 1885-1962, is a French painter, engraver, illustrator, art theorist and teacher. He is one of the representatives of the cubist movement. From the start, Lhote felt very much in tune with the slogan of “all decorative” of Art Deco. It will keep this taste for decoration until the end. This is how he executed the murals of the Faculty of Medicine of Bordeaux in 1957.

André Lhote has written important theoretical works on modern painting as well as works as an art critic.
