This large-format 29.92 x 22.04″ (76 x 56 cm) color work on vellum paper is in very good condition and features a small red printed stamp reminiscent of traditional East Asian seals.
In this unsigned original lithograph by the renowned Spanish painter and sculptor Antoni Tàpies (1923–2012), the numbers 1, 2, and 3 are reinterpreted as large, expressive calligraphic brushstrokes. Arranged in a circular pattern, they evoke perpetual motion and the passage of time. The plus sign (+), meanwhile, is represented by a beige cross-shaped collage, reinforcing the work’s symbolic and mathematical dimensions. The piece elegantly blends Zen aesthetics, Eastern calligraphic influences, and Western Informel art.
