Discover this rare book by Boris Taslitzky, One Hundred and Eleven Drawings Made in Buchenwald, published in 1978 by Éditions Hautefeuille in collaboration with the French Buchenwald-Dora and Cain Association. This quarto volume, presented in an elegant beige cloth slipcase, contains 111 drawings (black and white and color watercolors) across 115 pages, a poignant testimony from the deported resistance artist.
Created under the extreme conditions of the Nazi concentration camp, these works by Boris Taslitzky embody his conviction: “To create is to resist!” An orphan of the First World War and a survivor of the Second, the artist immortalized both terror and human dignity. This copy is in very good condition (only two minor stains on the front cover), with text in French. An essential collector’s item for enthusiasts of art, the history of the Resistance, and the memory of Buchenwald. Many of these drawings are now held at the National Resistance Museum in Champigny-sur-Marne.
