Isamu Noguchi, A study of the sculpture (Book) by Nancy Grove. 1985. Texts in English. Garland Publishing. Like new. A Garland Series. Outstanding dissertations in the Fine Arts.
Isamu Noguchi, 1904-1988, is an American-Japanese artist, sculptor, designer. In the 1920s, he discovered the Western avant-garde in New York. In 1927, he worked in the studio of Constantin Brâncuşi. He was also very influenced by his apprenticeship in traditional Chinese painting in 1930-31, as well as by the Mingei movement. We find in these furniture creations, and in particular in Akari lamps, the influence of his work as a sculptor.
