Kataoka Tamako (Book) Paperback, Like New, French. Approximately 125 pages. 1992 exhibition catalog. Asahi Shimbun. Numerous color illustrations.
Kataoka Tamako is a Japanese painter of the XXᵉ century, (1905-2008). In 1983, Tamako Kataoka began to paint female nudes that looked like Maillol sculptures transposed into the world of Japanese painting. This shows how difficult it is to define his art, both traditional Japanese by its technique, but sometimes indebted to Western art by its style.
This book is for all those who are passionate about Japanese culture and for all those who love Beauty. The screens of Madame Kataoka Tamako are very well represented in the book, and allow us to put a face on the great men of Japan of a certain era. Each work by Kataoka Tamako suggests a particular atmosphere and a certain soul.
