Alphonse Daudet‘s Letters from My Windmill (Les Lettres de mon Moulin) : book, early numbered edition No. 1202 from a limited print run of 2500 copies, on Navarre vellum paper, engravings by Sylvain Sauvage. Éditions de la Bonne Étoile, 1934. Book in French. After his trip to Provence, the author began writing the first texts with Paul Arène, which were published serially in the newspaper L’Événement during the summer of 1866 under the title Provençal Chronicles. Some of these stories remain among the most popular in French literature, notably Monsieur Seguin’s Goat and The Three Low Masses.
A collector’s copy in very good condition considering its age (see photo), ideal for bibliophiles who appreciate Provençal classics and illustrated editions from the early 20th century.
