The color star is part of the color theory developed by Johannes Itten, published in his book Art of color.
With the color star and the eight chromatic chord discs contained in the cover, it is possible to choose harmonic color chords. We can thus visualize by isolating the chords of two, three, four, five and six colors. Each color of the twelve-part color star is associated with two lighter tones and two darker tones.
These allow to widen the range of chromatic variations. You can use the chord discs either on the black side or on the white side and rotate them at will on the color star.
