Painting a mixture of fantasy, nostalgia and religious images, Marc Chagall (1887-1985) sees his paintings as odes to love. Despite a poor childhood in a Russian shtetl, Chagall filled his paintings with happy and optimistic references to his childhood, which he rendered with delicate lines and bright colors. After living in Paris, he moved to the United States during World War II, where he depicted the plight of Jewish martyrs and refugees.

He enjoyed an exception: his sensitive and spiritual paintings were exhibited at the Louvre during his lifetime.

This original lithograph comes unframed and is shipped rolled in a rigid protective shipping tube so it arrives at your door in perfect condition.
