High Middle Ages Murals in Catalonia. This is the first time that a systematic and in-depth study has been devoted to painted decorations from the early Middle Ages in Catalonia. The paintings of the churches of Sant Pere de Terrassa, de Pedret as well as the lost decor of Campdevànol are nothing more than debris from the achievements of the 9th and 10th centuries. These are essentially modest examples, with the exception of the three Terrassa ensembles, of remarkable quality. So far these monuments have remained unknown, here we reveal the richness and, therefore, the cultural complexity of the Hispanic March at the time of the Carolingian conquest. We are convinced that, from now on, these ensembles should no longer be unknown, neither to specialists nor to heritage enthusiasts.
