Picasso. Papiers Collés (Book) by Brigitte Leal. Very Good Condition, 87 pages, in French.
The acquisition of a prestigious pasted paper, Bottle of wine, packet of tobacco, newspaper from 1914, is the opportunity for the Picasso museum to exhibit, for the first time, in its entirety, its own collection of pasted papers from the artist. Exceptional collection, which has the particularity of possessing pasted papers from the Cubist period, made between 1912 and 1914, but also pieces showing the posterity of the genre in Picasso’s work, particularly in the form of tapestry cartoons, such as the monumental Women at their toilet from 1938. Collages of colored paper and musical scores, drawings enhanced with newspaper clippings or pinned with samples of tapestry, combinations of ready-made objects and wallpaper: all of Picasso’s research, to this moment where, with Braque, he shares the challenge of reality to be reformulated, are represented in this ensemble.
