Privat Antoine Théodore Livemont, known as Privat Livemont, is a Belgian painter and poster artist, born October 9, 1861 in Schaerbeek, and died in the same town on October 4, 1936.

After studying at the Saint-Josse drawing academy, alongside Adolphe Crespin, Paul Saintenoy and Léon Govaerts, Privat Livemont won a scholarship which allowed him to further his training as a painter-decorator in Paris. Between 1883 and 1889, he was associated with important works, such as the decoration of the Paris town hall, the drawn inventory of the furniture of the Comédie-Française or the sets of Hamlet for the Garnier opera. Returning to Schaerbeek, he founded his decoration studio and by chance won, in 1890, the first competition for the poster announcing the art exhibition of the local artistic circle. Engraving himself on lithographic stone, he produced around forty posters which rivaled those of Alphonse Mucha, mainly between 1896 and 1904, for Belgian, Dutch and Parisian firms, which were exhibited in Brussels, Paris, London, St. Petersburg, Haarlem, . Alongside his activities as a poster artist, he creates large decorative paintings, ceramic panels and stained glass windows. Teacher of decorative composition and flower painting at the industrial school.
