About Sam Francis
Sam Francis, a leading figure in post-war American art. Influenced by Abstract Expressionism (Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning), Color Field painting, Tachism, and his time in Paris and Japan, Francis forged a unique style emphasizing luminous color, open space, gesture, and the “void.” Though often linked to movements like lyrical abstraction and action painting, no single label fully captures his innovative approach to color, light, and canvas.

This timeless monochrome lithograph embodies his mastery of subtle form and emotional depth—ideal for collectors of mid-century modern, minimalist, contemporary abstract, or Abstract Expressionist works. A thoughtful gift for art lovers, interior designers, or anyone seeking sophisticated, introspective art. This original lithograph was taken from a numbered book dedicated to the monograph of Sam Francis by Yves Michaud. (2nd photo) The book is not included in the offer.
