Yves Saint Laurent, les coulisses de la haute couture à Lyon / Yves Saint Laurent, behind the scenes of haute couture in Lyon (book) by Laurent Wauquiez and Madison Cox (Preface), Collective. 2019. Libel editions. 168 pages in French. Very good state.
Lyon’s textile industry and Parisian haute couture have a rich shared history. Throughout his career, the couturier Yves Saint Laurent relied on the region’s silk makers, fabric manufacturers and suppliers for the creation of his models, thus contributing to the influence of these great houses. Crepes, muslins, taffeta, velvet… from fabric to dress, this work offers a dive into the heart of the creation of one of the greatest couturiers of the 20th century and pays homage to the emblematic technical know-how of a whole territory.
