Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906)
Seated Young Woman

A patinated bronze sculpture, signed, of exceptional finesse.

This elegant female figure, depicted seated on a bench with architectural motifs, gracefully embodies the refinement of the French Neoclassical style. Dressed in a gown with flowing, precise drapery, she wears an ornate hairstyle and delicately holds a small object in her right hand, in a contemplative and poetic pose.

This work is characteristic of the artist, who was a student of Louis-Charles-Hippolyte Buhot and exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon. Bouret distinguished himself through the quality of his bronzes and the sensitivity of his female figures, often inspired by Antiquity as reinterpreted by 19th-century Romanticism.

Dimensions:
– Height of the statue (without base): 25 cm / 9.84 inches
– Length: 21 cm / 8.26 inches
– Depth: 10 cm / 3.93 inches
– Bronze base: 25 x 13 cm / 9.84 x 5.11 inches

This piece is in excellent condition, displaying a beautiful, even, and warm golden-brown patina.

The signature is clearly visible.

This sculpture is a fine acquisition for discerning collectors of 19th-century French bronzes and neoclassical sculpture.
